I met Gregory Wiggins in the year 2000 while I was going to film school in San Francisco. He was a bus driver that operated the SF Muni 38 line bus I rode to school everyday. One day after I was blown away by how over-the-top uplifting he was in his patter and delivery to everyone he was serving I approached him. I told him that I was a student filmmaker, and wanted to know if he would allow me to follow him around with a camera and tell his story.
Gregory was ecstatic in his enthusiasm for this collaboration. He had a story that he wanted heard by others. I was one of the very few to be curious and want to hear what he had to say. He continually gave me his blessing to share his story with as many people as possible. I sat on this final edited documentary for years because I didn’t think it was polished enough.
I tried my best to stay connected with him over the years. When I last spoke with him, he said he was being framed for inheritance fraud. I lost contact with him after that. Upon digging I found the following article giving the most news about him that I currently have. If you have any updates on his current condition, please do contact me.
